Many women serve in the Marines and other branches of America's armed forces but the woman, who has requested that her name not be released, is the first to make it through the Marine Corps' 13-week infantry officer training course. 'I am proud of this officer and those in her class,' Marine Corps commandant General Robert Neller said. 'Marines expect and rightfully deserve competent and capable leaders, and these (Infantry Officer Course) graduates met every training requirement as they prepare for the next challenge of leading infantry Marines; ultimately, in combat,' Neller added. After midnight, near the end of a 7-hour-long police interrogation that began on December 14, 2003, Charles Cullen said, 'I did not want (people) to see me as this, what I am.' Somerset County detective Timothy Braun then asked him, 'What are you, Charles?' The 43-year-old nurse replied, 'A man, person. Apr 25, 2013. A judge in Somerset County Superior Court signed an order on Thursday that would allow the convicted serial killer Charles Cullen to donate one of his kidneys as long as he and his doctors met a new series of conditions, including providing a guarantee that the recipient's insurance would pay all costs. The order leaves in. Early life Childhood. Countee Cullen was born on May 30, 1903, but due to a lack of records of his early childhood, it has been difficult to pinpoint his city of birth. Charles Edmund Cullen (born February 22, 1960) is a former nurse who is the most prolific serial killer in New Jersey history and is suspected to be the most prolific serial killer in American history. He confessed to authorities that he killed up to 40 patients during the course of his 16-year nursing career. But in subsequent interviews with police, psychiatric professionals, and journalists Charles Graeber and Steve Kroft, it became clear that he had killed many more, whom he could not specifically remember by name, though he could often remember details of their case. Experts have estimated that Charles Cullen may ultimately be responsible for 400 deaths, which would make him the most prolific serial killer in American history. In his first television appearance, 'Angel of Death' serial killer nurse Charles Cullen tells Steve Kroft he is sorry for murdering scores of patients, but he isn't sure he would have stopped if he hadn't been caught. Cullen is the first serial killer to appear on 60 Minutes in its 45 years on the air and though he says he murdered between 30 and 40 victims on his confession tape -- portions of which will be broadcast for the first time -- some suspect he killed many more. Cullen's interview and the first interviews with key figures in his arrest will be broadcast on Sunday, April 28 at 7 p.m. Cullen has been held in the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton serving 17 life sentences for the past nine years. Kroft interviewed him for over an hour there last month. He says he knew what he was doing was wrong and when asked whether he was sorry, he replies, 'Yes. But like I said, I don't know if I would have stopped [killing].' He killed all of his victims with medication, poisoning most of them with the heart drug digoxen. The killing took place over the course of 16 years at seven hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania where Cullen was a critical care nurse. Asked by Kroft what his motivation was, he says he was easing pain. 'I thought that people weren't suffering anymore. So, in a sense, I thought I was helping.' That may be why he got the moniker 'angel,' but when Kroft points out that several people he murdered were not close to death nor in great pain, he replies, '.There is no justification.the only thing I can say is that I felt overwhelmed at the time.' Pressed for an explanation for the families of his victims, the serial killer says, '.It felt like I needed to do something and I did. And that's not an answer to anything,' he tells Kroft. Cullen has tried to commit suicide many times, beginning from an early age. In his taped confession to detectives, he says, 'I tried to kill myself throughout my life because I never really liked being who I was. I didn't feel I was worthy of anything.' Cullen told authorities he thinks he killed between 30 and 40 patients, but Charles Graeber, who investigated the case for his book about Cullen, ' The Good Nurse,' believes that's the tip of the iceberg. Pointing out that Cullen told investigators he had 'dosed' three or four people a week at his first job in 1987 and didn't know all of their outcomes, he speculates that over 16 years the number could be much higher. 'I would be very surprised, as would pretty much everyone I've spoken to with any knowledge of this case, if it was not in the hundreds, multiple hundreds.' In addition to the confession tape, 60 Minutes also brings new light to the case by broadcasting the first interviews with key figures most responsible for the arrest of the serial killer: Det. Tim Braun and Det. Danny Baldwin, who cracked the case, Dr. Steven Marcus, the director of the New Jersey Poison Control Center and Amy Ridgway, the nurse who helped police catch him. Luckily, Christmas arrives at Walt Disney World promptly after Halloween, so no time is wasted in getting into the spirit! Of course, a highlight of the season and one of the most popular Disney World events is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The party is a separately ticketed event, which means you must purchase a party ticket to attend. We were so hoppy to attend the very first party of the year and are here to report back on our experience. As this was a sold out party, we think we have a pretty good idea of what to expect and how to tackle your night. We were lucky with great weather and an awesome time. We're very hoppy to announce that we're selling on select nights. Skip down to the dates, tickets and pricing section to read more. Since we get questions year-round about this event — yes, really! — there is no better time to get a hop on the holiday spirit. We've filled this guide with all of the need-to-know details about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2017. • A Frozen Holiday Wish - 6:15 p.m., 8:15 p.m. • Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration - 7:40 p.m., 9:25 p.m., 10:30 p.m., 11:55 p.m. • Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade - 8:30 p.m., 11 p.m. • Holiday Wishes—Celebrate the Spirit of the Season - 10 p.m. • A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas - 7:45 p.m., 8:35 p.m., 9:25 p.m., 10:45 p.m., 11:35 p.m. • VoicePlay - 8:10 p.m., 9 p.m., 10:20 p.m., 11:10 p.m. • Club Tinsel - 7 p.m.-12 a.m. • Snowfall on Main Street - intermittently Expected Character Greetings at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2017 Special characters are one of the main draws of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Rare characters such as Jack Skellington and the princes can be found, and “regular” characters are out in their holiday finest. This is such a fun, exciting part of the season and an excellent photo-op. (Don’t worry, PhotoPass+ photographers can be found with each character, except for those “roaming” as listed below.) In years past, we’ve seen characters meeting as early as 4 p.m. Before the party even begins. Note that you MUST have a party wristband to get in these lines. Some high-demand characters were even out at 5 p.m. When we attended this year’s Halloween Party! However, we had a much different experience at this year’s Christmas Party. The only characters we saw out meeting guests prior to the party’s official 7 p.m. Start were the Seven Dwarfs, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps. We found them greeting beginning around 6:15-6:30 p.m. The Dwarfs were already at a two-hour wait at this point. While we expected the highly sought-after Sandy Claws (Jack Skellington) to make an early debut, he wasn’t on the scene until 7 p.m. At this point, he already had a three-hour wait. This may vary from party to party, and we highly recommend asking a cast member upon arrival about your must-see characters. While in the past we have recommended lining up for your favorite characters prior to the start of the party, we might be adjusting our technique. We found wait times to be significantly shorter later in the night. The popular Dwarfs were only at a 30-minute wait around 10 p.m.! Crowds die down later and characters become less of a priority. With so much to do at the party, we’d hate to spend so much time waiting in line. Most characters have at least an hour wait time, so be sure to prioritize who your Frog Squad REALLY wants to meet ahead of time. Go ahead and take a screenshot of the character list below, as these details are not featured on the party brochure and some cast members may not even be able to tell you location specifics. List of expected character meet-and-greets for the 2017 parties: Main Street, U.S.A. Since the beloved, year-round “Wishes” spectacular retired earlier in 2017, this holiday edition is only that much more sought after. Because this show isn’t too dependent on castle projections, you can really view the spectacular from anywhere in the park — but we like the spot in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. Next to Casey’s corner best. Disney is offering a Holiday Wishes dessert premium package for this event at an extra cost. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration Last year, guests at the party were treated to a new castle stage show called 'Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration.' Mickey and Minnie are hosting their very own holiday party and inviting your favorite Disney pals to ring and sing in the holidays with classic carols and new favorites. It includes medleys of holiday tunes, both classic and contemporary, and features Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto, who are celebrating just a few days before Christmas. Woody, Jessie, Peter Pan, Snow White, Alice, the White Rabbit and many more stop! The highlight of this show for us is the iconic Clarabelle Cow belting out “All I Want for Christmas is You” in true Mariah Carey fashion while strutting her stuff in a silver sequin dress. Quick tip: Find a good seat for the 10:30 p.m. Showing, and stick around in that same spot for the 11 p.m. “A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas” Show Taking place on the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland, we find A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas to be the most underrated part of the whole party. This hilarious show follows the storyline of Stitch trying to hunt down Santa to bring snow to Tomorrowland. There are plenty of jokes along the way as Stitch tries to come to grips with who exactly Santa is, and the best way to hunt down his reindeer. In the meantime, Buzz Lightyear and Mike Wazowski each have their own brilliant musical numbers. Tad and Lily especially love this show as it’s suited for the younger audience and even has a kids-only area at the front of the stage. With five performances, this is one that you can fit in as you have time or in passing. VoicePlay VoicePlay has returned to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for alternating shows between A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas. We really recommend checking out these shows back-to-back, and taking the small break in between to grab cookies and a snow-cone from Auntie Gravity’s. VoicePlay is an incredible a capella group that will wow you with its vocals-only performances of classic Christmas tunes. This show is a really great break from the chaos of characters at the party and will really get you into the spirit with their unbelievable talent. Club Tinsel Dance the night away with a live DJ and holiday friends at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, where Sonny Eclipse can usually be found performing. Polar bears, reindeer and elves will groove with your tadpoles to fun musical hits. We love mingling with the iconic parade reindeer! Snowfall on Main Street Snowfall in Florida is magical enough, but you can’t miss the beauty of snow fluttering down in Magic Kingdom. You can find flurries down Main Street during both parades and all of the Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration showings. Rides Because it is a separately ticketed event, one of the party perks are significantly less guests in the park. And with so many special experiences available, ride waits are typically much shorter. If you weren’t able to get ahold of a Seven Dwarfs FastPass+ during your trip, the party may be the perfect time to ride it. The Frog Family is usually too busy hoppin’ from character to character and enjoying the special shows to tackle too many coasters, but we do have a few tips. In our experience, the wait times get shorter and shorter as the night goes on. Definitely don’t get in line right as 7 p.m. Hits, because there may still be “day guests” remaining and there is so much more to do! Aside from waiting until later in the night, the best time to hit popular rides is during parade and show times. If you’re waiting to attend the 11 p.m. Parade, then use the first showing time to hop on the high-demand rides such as Seven Dwarfs and Peter Pan’s Flight. The wait times will be significantly shorter since so many people will be lined up on Main Street for the parade. The MyDisneyExperience app is live during the party, so take advantage of checking out wait times before hiking from Tomorrowland to Adventureland to take a trip on the Jingle Cruise. We found the popular rides anywhere between a 10 and 45 minute wait depending on the time of night. While we may be alone in this — one of our favorite memories is seeing the Wishes fireworks while riding Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. It’s a magical, surreal experience and a way to enjoy two magical things at once — and there are significantly shorter lines during the fireworks! “Smaller” rides such as Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor and “it’s a small world” will have a consistently short wait that typically won’t exceed more than 20 minutes throughout the night. These are great to quickly hop on if you have time to kill before a show! List of attractions expected to be open during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parties for 2017: Main Street, U.S.A. Nov 28, 2017 at 9:02 p.m. It's worth noting that if you don't have annual passes, but rather 3-day passes or even regular one-day parks tics loaded on your 'My Disney Experience', that you WILL have to use one of those days to cover any fast passes that are booked before the party. I asked the customer service person if I'd be able to book fast passes since we planned on arriving to the party at 4, but since the party doesn't allow fast passes, we would have been required to use on of our regular passes even if only entering the park at 4pm. Nov 8, 2017 at 7:47 p.m. We have the platinum annual passes and we bought tickets to Mickey’s Christmas Party. We were planning to get to MK around 4pm and stay until about 10:30 or 11:00 (we have two young kids 2 and 4). Can we see most of the shows from Main Street? Would you recommend going to Tony’s for dinner and staying close to Main Street most of the night? My girls love Mickey and crew and the Princesses. Where can we expect to meet them? Is it worth it to get FP’s for 4pm and 5pm before the party starts? Thanks so much for your help! Nov 15, 2017 at 10:16 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi Ami, Yes, you'll be able to view the parade and Holiday Wishes from Main Street. You could most certainly catch dinner at Tony's and grab a spot on Main Street. You'll want to make sure to hit up the other entertainment (like characters, etc.) and anything else you'd like to do during the beginning of the party. Jasmine meets next to The Magic Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland, Moana near Swiss Family Treehouse and most of the other princesses will be found in Fantasyland. Ariel is across from Under the Sea, Belle near Gaston's Tavern and you'll see Rapunzel, Aurora, Cinderella, Tiana and Elena at Princess Fairytale Hall. Hoppy planning! Oct 27, 2017 at 11:13 p.m. Hi, I have a question regarding the party event ticket and fast passes. My family just bought tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We are planning on going to Magic Kingdom at 4pm the day of the event, so we will not have regular park admission cards. My question is how do we use our fastpasses without being given an RFID card? Can we get the cards from guest services or do we have to purchase MagicBands? Also, if we have to purchase bands, are we able to reuse cards from a trip two years ago? I'm not sure if those cards only last so long or die after an extended period. Thanks for your help!:). Nov 12, 2017 at 11:29 p.m. Oct 31, 2017 at 11:29 p.m. Anna Johnson Says. I don't know if it is the same as the not so scary Halloween party but at that Jack was out in the gazebo at 6 and the line had started forming around 5:30 even though the party didn't start until 7. Once the parties have started later this month it should be easier to get specifics from party goers. If you are in line early you can be back to the party in fairly short order. We were third in line to meet the queen of hearts at nsshp-she came out at 7 and we were done by ten after 7. Hope that helps! Oct 20, 2017 at 5:37 p.m. Trisha Fox Says. Hey, thanks so much for the helpfull info! We bought a Party ticket for December 8th, for this year. We will also have a regular park ticket and be in the MK for the rest of the day as well. I was wondering how popular is the Captain Jack Sparrow meet and greet? Is he one of the characters that you have to line up extra early to meet? Does he usually meet throughout the whole party or only during certain hours? And how long does the line usually get to meet him? Any tips on the best time to line up for this meet and greet? Thanks so much! Sep 28, 2017 at 7:08 p.m. Katharine Says. I think part of this question has been addressed above but I want to make sure I understand correctly. My family is checking into the Polynesian on Dec. 19th and staying through the 23rd. We only have Christmas Party tickets, not park tickets, for the 19th - so we are planning to enter the park at 4 PM and take advantage of a few rides using FP+. We have three-day park hoppers for the 20th, 21st, and 22nd. My question is - will My Disney Experience let me make FP+ reservations for all four days (Dec. 19-22nd) starting 60 days in advance of Dec. 19 since we only have three days of park tickets (i.e., does the system recognize the Christmas Party tickets as something that gives you access to FP+ reservations)? Hope that makes sense. Thanks so much for the help! Oct 7, 2017 at 12:08 a.m. Valerie Says. I just purchased tickets to MVMCP for Dec 22 (I know this will be a busy night). I purchased them over the phone and the person I spoke with told me that they would not be letting people in at 4:00 this year. She said that since they were closing the park at 6:00 they would not be letting party guests in until 7 o'clock. Do you think this is accurate? It seems like if they didn't start letting guest in till 7 o'clock the party would be half over before the end of the line made it in. Just wondering what your thoughts were. Sep 4, 2017 at 5:23 p.m. Elizabeth Brown Says. Official Disney told me on the phone that they have not finalized the entertainment schedule for the Christmas party this year and the credible information would more then likely be finalized and published in early October. In addition numerous Disney cast members told me Elsa, Snow White and other characters would be out that are not mentioned on this site. The time of the fireworks and parade may be correct and likely to reoccur at the same time however, websites should not being publishing misinformation based on last year's event. Jun 16, 2017 at 4:09 p.m. I'm a bit disappointed the Christmas Party is the day we had planned. We are doing a quick side trip to Disney - for MK on Dec 1st. I didnt realize the park would close at 6pm. Adding the party tickets are not in our budget:(. Traveling with my husband, 4yo and will be 13mo old. Are we making a mistake spending so much money and missing evening hours? We also can't afford to stay on site so we will miss the extra magic hours. Cheapest hotel is 260 a night. Jun 21, 2017 at 11:45 p.m. Sorry for jumping in here after Mommy Frog already replied, but one major benefit to going into the MK on a Party night is that many regular visitors folk will avoid the park as it closes early. This makes for much shorter lines and more pleasant walk down main street and through fantasy land where elbow space is at a premium. You will miss the evening fireworks. But being off site guests my guess would be you'd want to leave early to get the little ones off to sleep. Jun 5, 2017 at 7:21 p.m. I'm having trouble finding details of the events - how long is each show? We will not be able to stay all night with small children, so I'm trying to figure out which overlap in different locations. For example, could I do all this (in this order)? Or are the shows long and I would have to pick and choose? This will be our first Diisney trip at this time of year and our first MVMCP. We will also have a regular park ticket for MK that day. The shows are our priorities since we will have other time during our trip to do MK rides, etc. What time do you need to be on Main St. To get a front row spot somewhere around Casey's corner if we want to stay there for all the shows, and leading up to the fireworks? Also, when and how will we get our wrist bands since we will already be in the park? You don't have to leave and then come in again, correct? And is It possible to see the princesses with their princes after the fireworks? What time do the characters stop meeting? And does Tinkerbell meet with Periwinkle or any other fairies, or is it just her, and what time does she stop meeting? Thanks so much! May 30, 2017 at 5:54 p.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi Trisha, - We would suggest arriving at your preferred spot 45 minutes before the first show, which usually starts around 7:40 pm. - There will be Cast Members along Main Street available to hand out wristbands before the party begins. -As for character meetings availability is always subject to change. Times are not posted and locations are different for every character meeting. We suggest prioritizing your character needs first, identifying where they are when you arrive, then settle in for the shows. After fireworks, head back out for those characters! Hoppy Planning! May 12, 2017 at 12:55 a.m. I am very confused about this event! We will be in the Magical Kingdom on December 5th and already have tickets for this day. We want to attend the Mickey Christmas Event, do we have to purchase additional tickets for that event? We will already be in the park, does that mean that they close the park down and everyone leaves? Then at 6pm only people with Mickeys Christmas tickets can enter? I am not sure about how that day works and we want to make sure we experience the event and they don't make us leave the park that day. Can you please clarify what we should do that day! Apr 12, 2017 at 8:13 p.m. A couple of questions about the 2017 Christmas Party. We are planning to attend this party on one of our vacation rest days. Is it correct that we will not need to purchase park admission that day, but rather just tickets for the Christmas party? Additionally, if attendees are allowed to enter the park at 4, but the party doesn't begin until 7, are FP+ allowed to be used between 4 and 7? Could we take advantage of FP+ to do rides we didn't get to do on our MK day earlier in the week? Apr 5, 2017 at 3:03 p.m. Towanda Says. Hello, I’ve booked a 9 day trip for Christmas 2017 and plan on attending MVMCP! My only concern is that I’ve read on several sites that once the park reaches its maximum capacity they will stop letting people in. I’ve purchased a regular park ticket so that we can explore Magic Kingdom before the party, leave for a short break and then come back for the party. What happens in the event that the park is overcrowded when I return? Will I still be allowed to enter as long as I have a ticket for the party? Thank you in advance!!! Feb 3, 2017 at 11:40 a.m. Hi there, We have visited Florida a few times and this year are returning between end October and beginning of November to get some of the Halloween and Christmas vibes. My question is that I am looking at Mickeys Christmas Party tickets, but what extra can we expect for going to this compared to a normal night? We are thinking of just doing the party as a full day and night will likely be to much for the young ones. We have read elsewhere that most entertainment (castle stage show / parade) is the same regardless of whether we visit on a normal night the party night. So what extras do you get by attending the party that you wouldnt get on a normal night at the same time of year? Many thanks in advance:). Nov 16, 2016 at 12:51 p.m. Daniel Krause Says. Not that impressed. We were led to the impression that the employees swept the park around 7pm and all that are left are the ticket holders. We did not see that happen as it was very very crowded around the castle stage and the parade. These were the two events we wanted to share with our 4 year old granddaughter, but the crowds wee too large to get close. It appears you can stay and not buy a ticket and still see all the shows and the parade. You might not be able to ride the rides, but we did not go to this event for the rides. Although the few rides she did go on, no one was checking whether you were wearing a band or not. If you want to see the shows, just stay and not waste your money on the tickets. Will not go back for this nor recommend to friends. Nov 17, 2016 at 4:29 a.m. Absolutely not. The actually close the park at 5:00 pm. The patk actually stays closed for 2 hours. The tickets are different. You still can go on some rides with the night tickets, but you will be very busy with the parade and the fireworks that are better than the daily parade and the nigthly fireworks displays. I recommend to get in immediately as they open and get in place for the parade before the first row is full and all taken. Get a map of the parade road and situate yourself close to a place with easy access to bathrooms. The place gets really crowded. Oct 27, 2016 at 3:36 p.m. Charlotte Says. Hi I have Sunday 4th December and Monday 5th December to visit Magical Kingdom, Epcot and Animal Kingdom. We are not too bothered about the Micky's Christmas Party as we don't want to pay more. My question is do you think Magical Kingdom will be quieter on the Sunday or the Monday? I am guessing Monday? We basically want to do Magical Kingdom one day and Epcot and Animal Kingdom on another day. We are two 30 year old 'big kids' from the UK. Please could you give us some tips as to which day to do which? Oct 11, 2016 at 10:25 p.m. Hello there, love your blog. We plan to be in Disney World this December and have tickets to the MVMCP. So a couple of questions for you. We finally managed to let our daughters meet all 11 main princesses plus Anna and Elsa on our last trip. This year we are mostly interested in the Princes, Dwarves, Scrooge, and the Genie. What is the setup for the princesses like? Are they all in one place or separate lines? Are their Princes with them all day or just after 7pm? Are the Dwarves only there for the party? Will we receive specific information from Disney about their locations? Are any of the Princes (other than Aladdin, Charming, and Naveen) available to meet outside of the party? I ask because if they are we will place less of a priority on them. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer. Aug 1, 2016 at 3:57 p.m. I am planning on going to the Christmas party December 8th this year! I'm bringing people who have never been to disneyworld and am wondering what the wait times will be like for the rides. We want to watch the fireworks and see the parade as it goes by but sitting down for it isn't necessaryily a priority. I was hoping everyone would be so preocupied with the christmas party/characters/parades that the ride times wouldnt be as long as usual for this time of year. I was also told by someone that they sell out of park tickets because they try to limit the crowds. Is that true? Jul 25, 2016 at 2:07 p.m. Hi, We are planning to attend MVMCP on december 9th, and I wonder how much time I should plan in order to meet the characters? My kids reallly want to meet Jack, the 7 dwarfs, and Scrooge McDuck. Do you think it's realistic to do all that in one evening, or will we spend the entire evening waiting in line? (we also want to see shows and fireworks!) I am a little scared cause last year we attended the first MNSSHP and the lines for the characters were simply ridiculous, we didn't get to meet any characters. Thank you so much for your advice, I love your article! Jul 22, 2016 at 1:42 p.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi Shelley, We expect the following quick-service restaurants to be open, although none are confirmed yet: Main Street Bakery, Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, Casey's Corner, Aloha Isle, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, Westward Ho, Sleepy Hollow, Liberty Square Market, Columbia Harbor House, Pinnochio Village Haus, The Friar's Nook, Storybook Treats, Gaston's Tavern, Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, Cool Ship and The Lunching Pad. All of the table-service restaurants should be open. Hoppy planning! Jul 8, 2016 at 4:41 p.m. Tiffany Says. This same thing happened to us last year. The reservation for BOG was not until 8:30 pm and I did not want to spend the extra $$ for the holiday party. I called Disney Customer Service who said that I should not have any problems. That being said, on the night of our dinner I almost felt like a criminal. There were no less than 5 groups of Disney cast members that approached us and attempted to remove us from the park. When we explained that we had dinner reservations they had to call a supervisor over an get permission for us to be in the park. This happened so frequently in the 1.5 hours between the start of the party and our dinner reservations that I actually wanted to leave and skip dinner all together. I LOVE WDW and the MK, but if you plan on keeping the dinner reservations and not pay for the MVMCP, be prepared to be harassed. Jun 15, 2016 at 2:29 p.m. We will be staying on a disney resort for 7 nights in October. To save some money I was going to buy 5-day tickets through Undercover Tourist and use these tickets to link to my MDE and reserve our FP 60 days out. However, my ultimate goal was to upgrade to an annual pass on our 1st day there and bridge the gap on the rates I paid through UC and save some money. Now I'm concerned though that I would not be able to make FP reservations the length of our stay since I'd only have 5 day tickets at the 60 day out mark. Can I make FP reservations the length of my stay or is it determined by the tickets I have at the 60 day mark? Jun 15, 2016 at 1:28 p.m. We are planning on celebrating our daughter's first birthday at the Magic Kingdom in December. It will be her first trip to Disney World. We want to get tickets to MVMCP for either 12/16 or 12/18, but were wondering whether it was worth it to buy a full day park ticket for the day we go to the party as well? That was our original plan. But reading this, I see we can get to Magic Kingdom by 4:00pm and still have three hours before MVMCP starts. Not sure if it is worth the extra expense to pay to spend the full day at the park, since the baby will be so young, but I don't want her to miss out either? May 31, 2016 at 5 p.m. Jennifer Says. We already have park tickets for the time of the Christmas party. We didn't know about it at the time. Since we already have park admission for the days of the party is it worth and extra $400 for the party from 7-12. If we hadn't already paid for the day, it would be one thing. However, reading what happens during the party, I'm just not seeing that much extra that we don't already see for the price. I'm a park Newby though so please send share your thoughts. May 24, 2016 at 3:24 a.m. We will be at MK on December 4th for my daughters 4th birthday. We just realized that it is a party day! If we buy tickets to the Christmas party, will we be required to leave MK and re-enter for the party? This has totally thrown a curve ball into our plans.but seeing the fireworks are a must for us! Any idea is they are similar to the normal Wishes ones or totally different? Someone suggested that we do MK on a non-party day to celebrate her birthday but I feel guilty if we do not do it on her actual birthday. Any advice/recommendation? We are planning the full princess experience (BBB, CRT, etc). May 12, 2016 at 7:46 p.m. Christy Says. Hello, My family has visited Magic Kingdom on Dec. 20th and 21st during different years, and we've always been able to see the Christmas Parade during those days and Holiday Wishes on those nights. We will be back at that same time this year but are concerned that the Christmas Parade and Holiday Wishes won't be available to us this year without paying to attend MVMCP. Do you know if those events will take place before the last MVMCP on Dec. 22nd this year? Thank you for your help. May 12, 2016 at 2:07 p.m. Christina Says. We've never attended MVMCP before, but just bought tickets for our trip in December. We have about 20 days until we can make dining reservations, so I'm trying to get my touring plans in order to figure out best times to make dining and fast pass reservations. We are 2 adults and 1 14 year old boy. We plan to do MK the whole day on December 4th, with possibly a short break at the hotel to recharge before heading back to MVMCP that night. Do you have any suggestions on what hours we should leave the park to rest and be back. Also, if we want to have dinner at Be Our Guest, what time do you suggest we do that? We are currently booked at Saratoga Springs, but are wait listed for Bay Lake (fingers crossed). May 10, 2016 at 12:20 p.m. I am bringing the family for the week, Nov 27 through Dec 5, and was hoping to spend two days at Magic Kingdom. There are five kids coming with us, all under age 7, so the Christmas party ticket doesn't seem like good value for us, since they won't be staying up too late, not past 9 or 10. On your crowd calendar, the green MK days are only for party days that week. Is this because the parks are typically super light during the day for party days, until 4? If we were to go a non-party day, what is your suggestion for the day or should we just go during two party days and leave by 7? May 29, 2016 at 8:43 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi Kristy, Magic Kingdom is green on party days because the shortened park hours typically keep many folks from visiting those days. If your group isn't going to be staying out late anyway, then those days would probably work just fine for you. The only thing is you might one day to stay late so you can see the parade and fireworks. That might be a day where you visit on a non-party day, start your day early in the park to avoid the crowds, then take a break in the afternoon when the crowds reach their peak. Hoppy planning! Oct 3, 2016 at 1:46 a.m. I have a question about getting FP+ for the Christmas Party. I have purchased regular park tickets for MK on the same day that I have purchased the Christmas Party tickets. For the regular park tickets, I have already booked the 3 fast passes 60 days ahead, as I am staying at a Disney resort. My question is: Can I book additional 3 FP+ 60 days ahead of time for the Christmas Party, from 4 - 7 pm? Or, am I only allowed to book fast passes on the same day of the party? May 6, 2016 at 2:51 p.m. Hi, my family and I are staying on Disney in mid-November. Even though Disney has not officially released the park hours yet for the dates we are staying, I have seen a pdf document online that seems to accurately list the park hours. It appears Magic Kingdom will be closed fairly early every day we are there (as early as 4:30pm on one day).except 2 days for the Christmas event, which is a separate ticket. Can this be right? Is this what usually happens in November? We feel like the Magic Kingdom park hours in mid-November are really poor for those visiting for only a few days. I'm really hoping it is a mistake, but I won't know until the hours are officially released. Apr 19, 2016 at 7:31 p.m. Hi there, we are planning to visit the park on Sunday, December 18th, specifically for MVMCP. We also want to do Cinderella's Royal Table. Given that we are allowed into the park for 4 PM, what time would be best for us to reserve dinner? We were thinking either right at the start (4:30) or at the very end of the night (9:30) if we can get a reservation for either, but would like your input. It will be me, my husband, and our 5 year old daughter. Thank you for this blog, just found it today! Apr 8, 2016 at 7:04 p.m. Having never been to Disney during the holidays, I want to try to plan as much holiday hoopla as possible. When is the schedule for the candlelight procession announced? Other then Mickey's party, what other major or minor holiday events and attractions should I look into? We've been there 15/25 years so I'm not as concerned with all the rides but looking for more special or unique ideas. We would be a husband/wife and two daughters ages 22 and 24 at the time. Thank you in advance for any advice! Jan 13, 2016 at 3:56 a.m. Amber Pittman Says. My new mom in law has asked me to help plan her surprise anniversary trip to WDW. It's her gift to her husband of soon to be 40 years! Due to being employed by the local school district and not really wanting to deal with the heat, she's wanting to go the week of Thanksgiving. They LOVE Christmas and I know they both would have a blast at the MVMCP. That being said, my question is - does WDW do any party days the week of Thanksgiving (that's not the Friday before or the Monday after)? I ask because it didn't look like it based on the 2015 dates. Truly limited windows to get her the best 1st time ever experience.:-/. Apr 4, 2016 at 8:32 p.m. Hello - we went last year and it rained all night. The fireworks took place, but at least one of the parades was cancelled. Due to the weather, people flocked to the indoor attractions making waits for Pirates and Peter Pan about 30-45 minutes. Most of the characters scheduled for the outdoor meet and greets (like the 7 dwarves) came out when they could, but it was very limited. Most parents with very small children left quite early. It was a little unpleasant overall. Certainly not the magical experience we had hoped for but worth the risk, I think. Even with ponchos, the wet feet finally gave us motivation to leave the park. We will try again this year! Dec 4, 2015 at 9:47 p.m. I see that you compared a sold-out party to a crowd calendar 7 -- is this true for the attractions as well? At the Halloween party we thought that the streets and events (parades, shows) were super crowded but the lines were very reasonable. Is this true for MVMCP? Or can we expect long attraction lines as well? We have our tickets for Dec. 13 (not sold out yet but who knows) but it's a short WDW trip so the party may be our only time at MK and we want to see some attractions as well as other things (2 adults, no kids, lots of stamina). Nov 30, 2015 at 9:29 p.m. Terrilyn Jones Says. Good afternoon! My husband and I won't be going to Disney World till November 2017, leaving the day after thanksgiving. But I'm one that likes to plan ahead. So I wanted to ask a question, I know MVMCP is a separate ticket event but would that still be considered as 'Park Hopping' if we went to one of the other parks the day of the party? This will be my 3rd visit but my husband's 1st visit, we weren't getting the park hopper option because even though we want to enjoy the rides and shows we still want some relaxation time once we're done with a park for the day plus on a previous family vacation we all purchased it and it turned out to be waste but I wasn't too fond of it anyway. Long story short I know it's still a long ways away but I'm always writing and adding notes to my Disney Planner so we came plan ehich days to visit which parks once we purchase tickets. Dec 3, 2015 at 9:04 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi Kelly, I think this is a good option. With all of the holiday happenings going on at Epcot, you will enjoy having more time there and conceivably devote a whole day there, just something to consider. Personally, I think Animal Kingdom is a better choice than Hollywood Studios for a boy your son's age, but the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights is pretty amazing. It's possible you could hop over there Saturday evening for a few hours. Hoppy planning! Nov 24, 2015 at 2:44 a.m. Jennifer Says. We have 3 day tickets and Christmas party tickets - all linked to magic band. The party will be our first night (Tues Dec 1). If we go in the park at 4, how does the system know that we want to use our party tickets and not the regular ones (which we need for Wed - Fri)? I could just use the paper tickets to get in the party, but was wondering about the fastpasses from 4-6:30. I just want to make certain that we won't be chancing having a regular ticket used that first day. Nov 22, 2015 at 10:39 p.m. Hi may I know what are the transport option available if we stay till the end of MVMCP on 10 dec around midnight? Are taxi readily available? From MK to Holiday Inn Disney Spring how much would it cost via taxi? Are there free shuttle to disney spring from MK at that hour? Complimentry shuttle by hotel may not be available at that hour. I received a quote for over $100 for a town car. Is that reasonable? I find it rather high as my airport transfer from MCO to HRH cost almost as much even though distance covered a lot more. Kindly advise. Nov 24, 2015 at 7:41 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi there, I would check with your hotel directly to find out when the last shuttle pickup is. While buses run between the Disney resorts and Disney Springs until around 2 a.m., I am not certain there would be one from Magic Kingdom at that time. Cast members would definitely know and be able to help you, but you could hop on the monorail to Disney's Contemporary or boat to Disney's Grand Floridian, and then take the shuttle to Disney Springs and then walk back to your hotel. If need be, you could take a taxi from those destinations too. You would need to pickup a taxi from Ticket & Transportation Center if you decided you want to do that instead. Hoppy planning! Nov 13, 2015 at 3:59 a.m. Christi Says. Attending MVMCP on 12/3 (hope it will be a good night to go). I am wanting to meet sandy claws, 7 dwarves, mcscrooge said gang, princesses with princes and Aladdin and genie, then watch 930 fireworks, 1030 parade and then the tomorrow land show at 1145. Is this possible? If so, which character line do you think I should get in first? First timer to MVMCP and want to get the most out of the time but no kids so we will be closing the park down. Nov 17, 2015 at 6:07 a.m. I apologize in advance for adding my experience here which I feel compelled to share. I have been trying to find a placeholder to add my recent experience with MVMCP on Nov 10th. I read this blog many times before making up our mind that we would spend extra ~230 for buying 3 tickets (2 adults + a 5yr old daughter) for this Party. I regret to say that the experience was not great and I won't recommend anyone to waste time and money, unless you are really into the spirit of Christmas that anything dressed red and green will fill your hearts with joy of Christmas. Here's how the evening went for us. We reached park at 5PM as it allows the Party guests to enter after 4PM. You will get a special wrist band (paper) to distinguish from the day guests. As we went with our 5 year old daughter to celebrate her 5th birthday in Magic Kingdom, meeting princesses was bit high on our agenda. We thought that including Christmas night and one more full day in MK, we will be able to really fulfill her wishes. Now for starters anyone who says that the crowd is less for these Christmas party, has really not seen it. When you enter before 7pm, you would be jostling with the Day crowd who are also trying to make the most of their day (early close but paid full price) and have advantage of fast pass. Yes, first setback was there are no fast passes for MVMCP. As I spoke with Disney cast members. Per them they don't expect much crowd because of the 'limited' number of tickets, hence they don't think fast pass is needed. There was a show at 6:45PM at the castle which both day and party guests were jostling to get a space. We stood early on in the lines of Elsa + Anna (one line) and was glad that we managed clicks with them in 30 mins. But then next we got into lines for Cinderella and Rapunzel. Took 45+ mins. Was told that both of them are with their prince and are 'talkers' and hence line moves painfully slow. What we later realized that all these characters go on long breaks in between (30 - 45 mins) and almost simultaneously. The cast members will not tell you when exactly they are going to come back (its always 'will be back shortly') and will warn you that if you leave the line you will loose your spot. So after standing 30 - 40 mins in line - what choice you are left with - stand for another 40 - 60 mins when the character will come back and you will finally get to them. Next, stood in Snow white and Aurora's line (outdoors) for 30 mins and missed the 8:30PM parade. They went on break with no ETA. So we thought, OK, let go the spot and do some rides. Rides - long lines. Got back again in line at 9:30 - hoping that we will be able to get the click and would manage 10:30pm parade. Little did I know that they will again go on break 20 mins into the line. Again - cast member have no ETA ('ll be back shortly). We didn't want to miss the Laser show and parade which were really beautiful, so we requested them to allow us to join back in line after we do a ride or two more and attend the parade. We assumed that since the park is open till midnight, we would have good shot to stand in the line at 11PM after parade and still get the click. Little did we know that they close the character line between 10:30 / 11pm. We rushed to join back the line as soon as the parade ended and the cast members just refused to let us in with very cold face. We literally begged them as it was my daughter's birthday and she started to cry for not being able to meet her favorite princesses, but it was a stern NO. Nothing magical, Wish didn't come true. We were heart broken. With very heavy hearts, we just decided to just do couple of more rides. Thankfully by that time the lines thinned out so we managed to do Seven dwarfs and Peter Pan. Liked Severn Dwarfs. Peter Pan is over rated. Most of the rides lines are close before midnight and so did the 'famous' free hot chocolate stands. Coming to the another 'famous' selling point of snow at main street, anyone going from North will laugh at that. There were very small flurries which won't even make to 6 ft above the ground of Main street, during parade. I would say only go to this party - 1. If you are really into Christmas, decoration and special parade. If free hot chocolate, cookies and apple slices are your calling. If you have never seen snow in your life such that anything which distantly resembles it, will fill your heart with joy. You are definitely not into meeting princesses or characters. Much better chances of meeting all of them in Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios. We spent one more day (till 7PM because of another Christmas night) in MK and managed to get better milage / bang for the buck with the help of fast passes. I would recommend doing two days in MK including night fireworks and parade over the special party. Also, just want to warn you, as we went to MK again on Nov 12th (another MVMCP night), make no mistake, Disney staff really push you out of the park after 7PM if you don't have the band. And they are not polite or gentle about it. We were tired as hell at 7pm and thought to just sit down for a bit and munch some pop corns near castle. But they just forced us to march towards the exit gate. No warm smiles, No warm good byes, No Thanks for visiting. No - can't even stop to click last pictures of entrance or lighted up castle. Magic Kingdom has lost its magic. Nov 22, 2015 at 9:30 p.m. I'm sorry CJ I know a lot of families come from far and wide and may have barriers that do not allow them to look too closely at an expensive event in O-town but this tragic story could've easily been prevented and I find it quite amusing! Nobody who seriously wants to take pictures with 6+ princesses in one night should ever go even the week before Christmas, that is laughable and I'm actually surprised you fit as much in as you did. People are flying in from all over the world for this event and can create max capacity crowds quite rapidly. MVMCP is not about dragging an over-tired, exhausted 5 year old to 'make magic memories' with every character in less than 7 hours- it's about taking it slow, enjoying your family, the lights, the memories. Life, much like theme parks, is often full of disappointments but if you set your goals properly (and do not visit any theme park from December 23rd-January 2nd lol) you'd be surprised at how much happiness you will find!! Nov 19, 2015 at 5:28 a.m. Thank you for telling your experience with MVMCP. I was debating if i should pay all that money for a few hours, fight the crowds, dealing with rude people and of course trying to keep up with my kids.not to say its at night.can my kids survive.or better yet.can mommy survive with their whining or crying?!?!?!?!?! I appreciate your input and i have come to a conclusion.i don't need to be there with 2 young kids, in the dark in an overcrowded park! Thanks again.maybe i'll go in a couple of years when the kids are older! Nov 20, 2015 at 10:34 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi there, I would keep trying for reservations. You don't mention which park you'll be in or if you'll even be in a park for Christmas Day. Have you tried Open Table for reservations? Many of the Disney Springs restaurants, including The Boathouse, Morimoto, Raglan Road and House of Blues also offer reservations through this system. As of now, I see reservations for all of these restaurants on Christmas Day for lunch and dinner. Hoppy planning! Nov 19, 2015 at 4:36 a.m. Agree about the crowd. But it was more of a mismanagement of Disney and rude behavior of some of the cast members. They should have clear times including break times of the characters mentioned on their schedules, if characters are going to take 30 - 45 min breaks. I understand Disney parks are going to be crowded and characters are big draw but I felt that Disney intentionally does this to keep characters available for limited time slots, longer breaks to keep long lines (demand and supply). I am sure most families on an average would spend an extra day in parks for getting the characters or catch up on rides and parades - more revenue for Disney. However, what hurt most is very 'mean' behavior of cast members who perhaps are trained that way. How can you not know how long a character will go for a break and why you will not allow people to also take a break and reserve their spots? I felt humiliated that I have to beg a cast member half of my age just to be refused coldly and threatened to call manager, in front of my child. I still feel anguished remembering the whole thing which overshadows the good moments also which we spent there. Nov 9, 2015 at 8:37 p.m. We will be attending Disney World from Dec. I have MVMC tickets for the evening of Dec. We decided to book our Disney trip approximately 85 days out so I was late booking my dinner reservations. We purchased the basic Disney dining plan. Obviously, when I initially started booking reservations, 'Be Our Guest' reservations were booked for our time at Disney World. I kept looking daily for people to cancel and one evening I got lucky and an 8:10 pm reservation became available for Dec. 15, the evening we will be attending the MVMC event. I have recently found a brochure of the MVMC event and all the times of the various parades, shows etc. The 'Celebrate the Magic' castle transformation will be happening at 9:15 with Holiday Wishes right after at 9:30. This will be our first and probably only Disney trip during Christmas time. I'm worried that the 'Be Our Guest' reservations will be running late and other than cramming the food down our throats as fast as possible 'as opposed to truly experiencing 'Be Our Guest' as it should be', is the only way to get back to main st. And get a good location for Celebrate the Magic and Holiday Wishes which should be at least 30 minutes in advance. We have a 4 year old, 6 year old, and 9 year old that will be enjoying the festivities also. My question is, Should I cancel the 'Be Our Guest' reservations so that we will have plenty of time to stake out a good location and guarantee we see the Celebrate the Magic and Holiday Wishes shows or is 'Be Our Guest' reservations too valuable and also a once in a lifetime experience that needs to be done too. First time doing the dining plan and probably won't do it again so 'Be Our Guest' will not be on the list in future trips. For what it is worth, We will be at Magic Kingdom on Saturday, Dec. 19 (last day) and I know some of the events that were just for MVMC events will be done on that day but I don't know if 'Celebrate the Magic' will be done that day. Nov 18, 2015 at 3:27 p.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi Brian, Ultimately you have to make the call, but I would keep checking for reservations on the 19th. Be Our Guest is a fantastic experience, and you really need to allow at least 45 minutes for dinner. If you can't get the other date, it's possible that you could skip Celebrate the Magic on the party night and see it on the 19th and head over to the backside of Cinderella's Castle after you get out for Holiday Wishes. You don't want to miss this fireworks show - it's really quite spectacular - but you can see it from that back side of the castle and there will be other people watching from there as well. It's not as good a spot as the front, but depending on when you get out from dinner, it's going to be tough to get over there and get a decent spot to watch. You're best chances of getting a reservation at BOG will be in the couple of days leading up to the date as people's plans change and they don't want to pay the no-show reservation fee. If there is a solid chance of rain on that Saturday evening, your chances would also increase. It's possible you could even walk up for dinner. Let us know what you decide. Hoppy planning! Nov 9, 2015 at 3:07 p.m. I am planning a trip to Disney with a friend in the beginning of December. I was wondering if you could help me decide what tickets to purchase? We want to go to Cindy for sure on the 10th, but if we needed another day could go the 9th after about 2 P.M. We are High School Seniors, and we both think it would be fun To attend MVMC the 10th, if we went early in the day would we also need to purchase a day pass? Also I would like to see The Osbourne Light Show, is there anyway we could work that out for maybe the 9th? Nov 13, 2015 at 2:40 p.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi Audrey, On Cindy, do you mean Cinderella's Royal Table? If so, you definitely need a reservation. You could get a 1-day Park Hopper and visit Osborne lights along with Magic Kingdom, and also get the party ticket, which would allow you to enter Magic Kingdom at 4 p.m. Now I see your followup comment;) You could get a 1 Day Magic Your Way ticket for the 9th to Disney's Hollywood Studios and then get the party ticket for the next day. Hoppy planning! Nov 2, 2015 at 5:09 p.m. Hoping you can advise me: we're two adult FL residents who have been to MK 50+ times, but love it best at night! Trying to decide between visiting on a non-party night (Wed 12/9) or the party Fri 12/11. I know the Fri party will be busy/sold out, but Wed, 12/9 is an EMH night. With MK open very few evenings that week, I hear those nights now get extra busy. I don't mind busy, but hoping to avoid insanely overwhelming peak holiday crowds where you can't even walk or navigate through. We love the holidays and would enjoy Christmas atmosphere, but would get that on either night. Disregarding price, which night do you think would be best for us: a little less crowded? Really appreciate your help. Nov 2, 2015 at 9:19 a.m. Heather Says. I wanted to run my possible vacation plans by to ensure I'm not messing up my planning. We'll be driving down to Orlando on December 11th and staying through the morning of the 18th. Most of the trip (12/15-17) will be spent at Cabana Bay/Universal Studios since I won tickets to the parks. However, as a surprise, my significant other surprised me by purchasing Hollywood Studio tickets for Monday, December 14th (given the Osborne Lights will be discontinued). Best Christmas present to date! To top it off, he booked an All-Star resort stay for the night of 12/13. Very excited! Since we won't arrive until roughly 3PM, I was thinking about purchasing the party tickets as a special surprise for HIM considering he hasn't been to the Magic Kingdom in 20+ years, but I wanted to be sure I didn't need to purchase the additional park ticket base (since we won't be able to be at the park until around 4PM, thus a full ticket wouldn't make financial sense), only the special event ticket. Oct 30, 2015 at 5:43 p.m. I love that you have this blog to offer support and answer questions, thank you!!! This is our first trip to Disney. I've been lucky to have some suggestions along the way to help me plan well for dining and fast passes, but I've been unable to score any princess dining for the trip yet for my 5-year-old daughter.still trying everyday to find an opening. Right now, we have dinner reservations for 7:25 at Be Our Guest on 11/12. We plan to catch the beginning of the Christmas party, then run over to our dinner, then come back to party until close. We definitely want to catch Santa, a parade, and see the special shows with Elsa, Jiminy, etc. We are already eating dinner at Epcot at 3:00 that afternoon, so we won't be starving by any means.we could probably cancel the BOG reservation and just catch a snack on the go.but I hate to not have that experience (especially since we can't get a reservation at any other MK places). What are your thoughts? Nov 4, 2015 at 2:24 a.m. Hi, I read your comment I will also be in MK the 12th with my 9 month old. This was a last minute trip planned by my parents for my sons first disney trip. (My husband is missing since he has to work:-( We originally were leaving MK to have dinner but we checked every day found something in MK at the Plaza restaurant but that also happens to be where we are having lunch. We kept checking and found a reservation at Tonys. Just keep checking daily and more. People cancel reservations all the time. You might get lucky and find something or keep the one at BOG. And just give your daughter a snack or fruit or try a quick service meal for her if she cant wait til 730. Oct 30, 2015 at 2:15 a.m. Shabhi10 Says. Hi, I would really appreciate if you can help us plan our trip. We will be visiting magic kingdom in mid november, My question is that if we purchase single day park ticket, can we still stay in park at time of mickey's party, we do not plan on using rides/ meets and greets during party hours its just watching snow fall and parade. We have only one day when park is closing early due to party. Can we just feel the atmosphere of party with the full day park ticket? Oct 27, 2015 at 7:14 a.m. Hi staying in holiday inn disney spring 3 dec to 12 dec. Rookie in orlando. Not sure how to split up my days to visit the 4 parks in wdw. Intend to get a 6 day single park tix. Read about MVMC from your website and would like to attend it too. Problem trying to figure out which day to attend which park as well as MVMC. Tried using the crowd calendar and take into consideration the operation hours of the various parks and MVMC. Getting overwhelmed and confused. Family with a 10 yr old. May you kindly offer us some good pointers eg if we hv tix to MVMC we can enter MK at 4pm. For that day do we go shopping at outlet or shall we go to AK which has the shortest opening hours. Looking forward to some good advice. Have been following your website and learned a lot but now very stressed due to information overload. Oct 31, 2015 at 12:26 a.m. Hi Mommy Frog thanks for your reply. Add to the stress is that one of our group member has her visa application rejected under Section 214b. We are reapplying but we cannot get the park tickets until her visa status is firmed up. If it is still rejected she will be deprived of this trip and it will be party of just 2A1C: ( Anyway this is our first and we do not know when we can again afford time and resources to fly half the world to Florida and so we really want to make the most of our precious trip. We are arriving in MCO on 29th Nov. We will head to Universal's HRH staying there for 4 nights checking out on 3 Dec. We will get 3 day Universal Park to Park tix. From HRH we will make our way to Holiday Inn Disney Spring and stay for 9 nights. We intend to get the 6 days single park tix for WDW. Plus MVMCP tix we technically have 6 full days (and 4pm to midnight on date of MVMCP to visit MK). So need to work out which day to visit which park in WDW to take full advantage of the special events in Epcot, Animal Kingdom and DHS. As we are staying off site we do not enjoy disney magical extended hours. The youngest in our group is 10. Will it be possible for you to recommend how we should split our visits to WDW 4 parks based our our schedule. For Univeral it is easier since only 2 parks there. We would also like to do some outlet shopping. Lastly if we stayed till end of MVMCP at midnight what options do we have to return to Holiday Inn Disney Spring? And the cost involved dor 3A1C? Sorry for the long post and appreciate help and advice. Nov 2, 2015 at 9:11 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi there, OK, thanks for the context. I would plan to visit Magic kingdom on Dec. 9 and do the part on Dec. You could tour the deluxe resorts on the morning of Dec. Here's how it could work: Dec. 3 - Epcot Dec. 4 - Disney's Hollywood Studios Dec. 5 - Free day/shopping/another attraction (SeaWorld, LEGOLAND etc.) or this could be a Magic Kingdom day (although not best crowd day) Dec. 6 - Disney's Animal Kingdom/Disney Springs in the evening Dec. 7 - Epcot Dec. 8 - Free day/shopping/another attraction or revisit a favorite Disney Park Dec. 9 - Magic Kingdom Dec. 10 - Resort tour/Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Dec. 11 Free day/shopping/another attraction or revisit a favorite Disney Park Dec. 12 - leave Since you want to shop, you may consider a day or two for the outlets and Disney Springs. Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) will have holiday entertainment that will be especially fun in the evenings, but it gets very crowded, so for hard core shopping, you'd be better off doing that during the day. Don't miss out on some of the new restaurants! We especially like The BOATHOUSE. For a fun excursion, you all could take the boat from Disney Springs to Disney's Port Orleans Resort, where you could just enjoy the ride or go fishing or take a carriage ride. For free evenings, you could do a dinner show such as the Spirit of Aloha at Disney's Polynesian or Chip and Dale's Campfire Sing-Along. The latter is free, and you can all meet Chip and Dale. You should check with your hotel to determine the shuttle schedule, but the Disney Springs hotels typically run an hour or so past park close. Additionally since you're so close to Disney Springs, you could take Disney transportation back to Disney Springs and walk to your hotel, which is likely more reliable than the hotel shuttle. Hoppy planning! Oct 30, 2015 at 10:03 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Vacation stress is not what we're aiming for:) I would pick Dec. 8 or 10 for your party. As for the day, that is up to you, but doing something relaxing is preferable. By that time in your trip, it will be nice to have some down time. You don't mention any other attractions you might be visiting, but I would consider adding in Universal, SeaWorld or LEGOLAND (maybe a couple of these). Definitely plan to visit Magic Kingdom before the party, so maybe on the 4th. I will hold off on making specific recommendations until I hear more from you. Hoppy planning! Nov 30, 2015 at 6:51 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi Erica, The characters are all spread around the park. You really need to be in line even earlier for popular characters such as the Seven Dwarfs and Jack Skellington. For Anna and Elsa, since you can meet them anytime, there is less demand for them during the party, so I would get in line for Rapunzel around 6:30. Ask the cast member to make sure you are in the line to meet her with Flynn Rider (he's so dreamy). After that, I would get in line for Elsa and Anna. Hoppy planning! Oct 24, 2015 at 1:37 p.m. Hi, Great information. I am planning in advance for next December. My son, (14) and I will be cruising on the Dream from December 5th to 9th and I'm thinking of flying in on the 3rd to spend a little time at WDW since he has never been. Would like to do BOG for dinner and then considering doing the Christmas party and wondering about times. Would it be worth it to do just the Christmas Party? Trying to figure costs and time available to get the most for our low Canadian dollar. Oct 30, 2015 at 9:26 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi there, With DHS closing early on the 17th, some folks will hit the Christmas party that night that weren't originally planning to. With the DHS closing early, the two parties are closer to each other in terms of crowd levels. Some people without park hoppers will be less likely to spend their day at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and so we'd see more people coming to Magic Kingdom (and all of the other parks) during regular park hours. I would still go with the one that makes sense for you schedule-wise. Crowds have been more unpredictable than usual this year for the Halloween party, and we expect some of that to continue for the Christmas party. Hoppy planning! Oct 14, 2015 at 2:41 a.m. We are planning our boys first trip to Disney the week of 11/14-11/21. We are visiting magic kingdom. Boys are 9 & 12. They do not care to do meet and greets. My question is should we go to mk on a less crowded day with regular tickets that closes early for the Christmas party (we don't plan to purchase tickets) or should we go on a busier day where the party isn't going on. They want to ride rides, I want to see the fireworks. Is there anywhere to see the fireworks off the park so I am not missing out? Oct 14, 2015 at 11:57 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi there, Visit during regular hours on a party day for the lowest crowds. Make sure to get there ahead of park opening to maximize your time in the park. As for fireworks, you can see them from Disney's Grand Floridian, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Ticket & Transportation Center. You can also view the fireworks from the observation deck at California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. This is my favorite outside-the-park place to view the fireworks. You do need to have a reservation to do this, but you can get a reservation at any time of the day and then get back in for the fireworks. Hoppy planning! Oct 1, 2015 at 1:27 a.m. Jessica Says. My son will be 18 months when we go. What do you suggest we do? My hopes is we can ride things like Small World, Dumbo, etc with shorter ride times vs. A normal day. Do you think this is true or wishful thinking? What activities/shows at his age do you suggest we make a point to attend that night? He will probably be crashed by 9 so we plan to get there at 4 to get a decent amount of time. For me its just fun to be around the Christmas spirit, fake snow on main street, music, etc. What are the 'dance partys?' Dinner shows? Thanks so much.love your site! Oct 11, 2015 at 3:26 p.m. We have been to both the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.both are excellent and worth every penny. For both, all the rides are open and there are either very small or no lines at all. The parades and fireworks are different, incredible and memorable. You can enter the park at 4 pm to get three extra hours (although the tickets say 7 pm.you always get in starting at 4. An unbelievable amount of candy during the Halloween Party and unlimited cookies and hot chocolate during the Christmas party. So many special events going on.it is worth every penny. Sep 25, 2015 at 9:21 a.m. Trying to choose between attending the party on 10th, 11th, 13th or 15th December. The later dates (15th really) is the most convenient for us, but the earlier dates are possible. How much real difference in crowds do you think there will be between say the 10th (when you expect medium crowds) and the 15th (which you expect to be a sell out?). Is it worth going for the 10th to have a significantly better experience do you think, or will it actually only make a marginal difference? On your crowd calendar you are actually showing green days at the MK for the 11th, 13th and 15th, whereas the 10th is a yellow day so unsure why it is the opposite for the actual party. Sep 24, 2015 at 3:38 p.m. Danielle Says. Hi, This is an awesome article but I do have a question. We will be at WDW from Nov 15-20. I was originally planning on the Nov 17th party but HS will be closing that day at 4pm and I am wondering if you think that will impact crowds at the party? My plans are very flexible and we could move our party date to Nov. 19th but I see that is a moderate instead of a low crowd date. Do you still think given the early closing time at HS that the Nov. 17th party will still be low crowds? Thanks in advance. Sep 23, 2015 at 10:04 p.m. Wanted to find out why the park was closing early on the date we were visiting WDW and found out this party is on! We are an adult couple in our 30s, will we still love this Chistmas party, or is it purely something for the children? Also is it worth us still going to WDW during that day and purchasing the separate ticket for the Christmas party as well, or should we choose one or the other given our ages? A final question - do you know whether the Kiss goodnight still happens on a Christmas party date? Oct 4, 2015 at 10:36 p.m. A_C, my husband and I are also choosing to go to the MVMCP during our upcoming anniversary trip to WDW. We are also a couple in our 30's and this trip will be without our children just us for our anniversary. We have done quite a bit of research for this event and found that there are certain things we may not enjoy that are also some things that we will choose to take part in. This is also a great way to enjoy the rides for an extra 5 hours with minimal crowds. I think for that alone especially if it's just the two of you would be well worth the price. Sep 23, 2015 at 2:49 a.m. I've found your site very informative, thank you for sharing. I'll be taking my daughters (5 and 19 months) to WDW Oct 30 through Nov 9th. We have tickets for the last day of MNSSHP and the first day of the Holiday Party. My 5 year old has been to the Halloween Party before 2 years ago. We'll go back to Disney again so rides won't ready be an issue this trip. Do you have any suggestions on what we should do at each party. I guess I'm worried about them being 'bored', probably not possible, by doing the same thing at both. We focused on trick or treating and characters. 5 year old is into the Princesses. I obviously would love photos with the characters in both holiday costumes but don't want to miss out on all the other festivities. Thank you in advance for any suggestions. Excited for our trip just not sure how to plan our visits. Sep 21, 2015 at 11:50 a.m. Wonder if you could help as I'm really undecided. We are trying to decide between going to MVMCP on Dec 10th or on Dec 15th - how much difference will there really be in terms of crowds? The 10th is the day after we arrive from UK so children are likely to be tired/jet-lagged and struggle to stay awake but it will be a less crowded option (which is v important to us), but the 15th is showing a busy sell out crowd. Sep 17, 2015 at 5:46 a.m. Hi, I really like your site, and used it quite a bit to plan a trip to WDW last December for our 40th anniversary. I'm going back again this Dec, mostly because it will be last time that the Osborne lights will be at Hollywood Studios. As several people have asked and you answered, the party requires a wristband, and several cast members did ask to see ours as they were shooing non-party-ticketed guests toward the exits. And besides the cookies and hot chocolate, there is enough extra going on to justify going to a party rather than going closer to Christmas when most of the party attractions are included in the regular admission. I think the parade looses a lot in the daytime, with all the lighting that is on the floats. My question is somewhat unrelated to the party - Everyone else last December was wearing retro Christmas light necklaces, but they were already sold out when we were there. Do you have any info on if they will be back this year, if they can be ordered ahead of time, and approx. Also, could I see the same thing happen with the 'Glow With the Show' ear hats that you mentioned? Sep 13, 2015 at 10:10 a.m. I'm looking into going to DIsneyworld during the christmas season for the first time, but I am really confused over how ticketing works. So during the MVMCP dates is magical kingdom closed completely? Does tha mean in order to enter I'd have to buy a regular and an event ticket or would i buy regular but get booted out at 7? I do believe I'm going to go to one park per atleast one day, (and it sounds like id need to go to MVMCP twice to get the full experience since there's so many events going on at once), so I would go to MK twice, but in case i wanted to not purchase the event ticket but still wanted to go to MK on the day of the event could i? And i'm still not 100% on this vacation so how much time from now do i have before tickets sell out do you think? Thanks for all the help! Sep 8, 2015 at 1:09 a.m. We are planning a trip this November around Thanksgiving. My question is should we book November 21-28 or November 23-30 and stick around for MVMCP on the 29th? I'm a teacher and very limited on when I can take time off. I have 2 daughters ages 7 and 4. I'm concerned if we go during the week of Thanksgiving the parks will be crazy busy and we won't get much in. On the other hand it lists the 29th as one of the busiest days, so this may not help fit things in either. Sep 2, 2015 at 2:57 p.m. I am in Orlando mid Nov. For business and a colleague and I have a free day on 11/19. We purchased MK tickets for the day as well as tickets for MVMCP. We have dinner reservations at 5:00 at the Grand Floridian so will be hoping the monorail to there and back. We won't be arriving back in the park until around 7:00, which I guess is when the festivities start. So.we won't have time to stake out a good viewing spot, which I suppose is what you need. Any suggestions for making the most of the party with the 2 of us being late to the party at 7:00? Sep 2, 2015 at 10:21 a.m. FrogBlog Says. Hi Jim, I would recommend visiting the second parade, which isn't as crowded so you have a little time to take it all in and explore. If you can't, it won't be the end of the world. There are plenty of good viewing locations along the parade route. If you don't want anyone in front of you for the first parade, you would need to stake out your spot 35-45 minutes ahead of time. If you don't mind sitting or standing behind someone else, you shouldn't have trouble finding a spot 15-20 minutes in advance. Sounds like it's going to be a fun work trip;) Hoppy planning! We have never been during the holidays before and are looking forward to our November visit this year. We will be at Disney for a week and are visiting a couple of the parks, is the Magic Kingdom usually more crowded during the day of a Christmas Party? I'm trying to decide whether we should hit another park during the day and then come over to MK between 4 and 7 for the Christmas party, or should we just plan on MK for that whole day? Aug 27, 2015 at 1:34 p.m. Hi, My family and I are visiting WDW in November from South Africa. It is our 2nd visit ever (1st was in January 2013). We are on a limited budget and I am trying to make the most of the trip. The costs for us to purchase the Very Merry Christmas Party tickets is more or less the same as 1-day tickets to visit Universal Studios- island of adventure. Do you think we should go to Universal instead with that money? Or do you think Mickey's christmas party trumps a day at Universal? Thanks so much for this website. Its been a great help to me while planning this trip and the previous one! Aug 18, 2015 at 10:04 p.m. Maggie L Says. I'm so glad to find your blog. So much great information. I will be taking my 4 year old Princess loving daughter to WDW For the first time In November. I've never attended a Disney Party before, so I don't really know what to expect. I've also never given a second thought or put any effort into meeting characters since I haven't been to Disney since having a child. Well, I am ON A MISSION now. Do the characters sign autographs during the Christmas Party? Also, do the princes meet WITH their princesses and sign autographs? I know I saw something about Jasmin and Genie meeting together, and Aladdin and Abu together. Thank you so much for any advice you may have!! Aug 2, 2015 at 3:16 a.m. Hi Mommy Frog We are arriving late 11pm on the 9th December from Australia after large amount of flying and going straight to Universal Resort. After reading your information about busy times I thought maybe we could sleep for the day and head to the Xmas Party that afternoon/night, rather than wasting a total day. We are then going to Disney Resort on the 14th and staying until the 20th when we flight out. So also thinking it might maximise time at Disney if we go to Xmas Party on 10th as 14th is out for moving and then we will only have 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and we do have a 5 day ticket. What do you think? Jul 31, 2015 at 3:23 p.m. Claire Jones Says. I was hoping to go to the party night on the Tuesday 1st Dec. As I am only going to Magic Kingdom while in Orlando, as I have to buy both day and night ticket, I was going to attend the party on the 1st and Magic Kingdom for the full day on the 30th Nov. However I have heard that you don't get fireworks/night parade etc on none party nights at this time of year? So my question is can you confirm if I go to Magic Kingdom for the day on a normal ticket on a none party night will I be able to have the full MK experience? If you don't know is there anywhere I can find out? Jul 26, 2015 at 5:09 a.m. Frank in Miami Says. Wow, we have had our vacation booked for a couple of months now. Grabbing reservations at Chef Mickeys for breakfast and at Cinderellas Table for dinner, both on the 3rd of December without realizing the park was closing at 7 for the party. We have three kids. We like to hit the parks early and usually head back to the room for a nap from about 3-6 then go back till they close. Our dinner reservation is at 6:55. I guess I have to drop another couple hundred dollars so we can stay at the park. I would change the day we visit the castle, but we pushed back our vacation three times trying to get those reservations. Thanks for the info. Last night saw the second UK première by a Swedish composer at this year’s Proms, this time from Andrea Tarrodi. For those unfamiliar with her work, the key part of her responses to my was the reference to her parallel passion for painting, plus the related fact that she continues to “connect music with images and colours”. Though she didn’t use the term, in essence she’s an impressionist, creating musical canvasses that evoke, allude and suggest, according to an underlying semi-programmatic scheme. She’s also something of a minimalist, not simply in obvious cycling rhythms and consonances (which she uses sparingly and loosely), but in a slim-line approach to material, setting up ideas and motifs that are then re-used and re-worked, sometimes at length. That may suggest that melody is of lesser importance to Tarrodi, yet her use of motifs is often such that they are either a nascent form of a melody or capable of being easily expanded into one.
